Keys today, right?!

Wrong!!!! Due to the financing department screwing up, we had to change to a different loan last Thursday, seven days before we were supposed to close. We hoped that we still would be able to get the keys by Thursday or Friday. The ladies in the financing department told us that they would get the new loan documents to underwriting ASAP, and that Thursday or Friday was a great possibility. What a load of crap! They called yesterday, the day before we were supposed to get the keys, and said it would be as late as September 18th before we get the keys. Grrrrr!!!!!! Can you say disappointing?! I wanted to cry when I got the news. Three more weeks we will have to wait! I know in the grand scheme of things, three weeks is not a lot of time, but I had plans for September in the house. I was going to host an open house for Close To My Heart, but now I can't until at least October. This delay really messes with my business. Jeremy and I were going to take advantage of labor day sales on furniture and paint. Now we can't do that. Grumble, grumble, grumble.

So I am trying to look on the bright side. Waiting three more weeks means we can save more money, which means more furniture sooner. The longer we wait, the less construction there will be on our street. We will be able to paint our garage floor the day we get the keys instead of having to wait a week (they replaced 3 concrete panels last Wednesday, and it needs to cure at least 2 weeks before it can be painted.) I get to go to music circus tomorrow. If we had gotten the keys, I would be painting and unable to go see Hairspray. Now, I get to go with my parents and my MIL. But the best result of not getting the keys is that Jeremy and I got to spend the day together doing whatever we wanted. We went to breakfast this morning after we had our final walkthrough. I had the best omelet at Mimi's. Then we went furniture browsing. Not shopping, cause we can't make any big purchases until after escrow closes, but browsing. We went to RC Willey and finally found something we agreed on. When we left, there was a tent set up outside with my favorite energy drink!

The pink Go Girl is yummy, but Go Girl Glo is the best! 100.5 was giving them out for free, so Jeremy and I both snagged one. Jeremy actually drank his and liked it! It turned out to be a fun day even though it had a disappointing start. I hope the next three weeks fly by.

Google Tag

My cousin Rachel tagged me last week. The rules are: Look up each questions on Google Images. Select the image you think fits best from the first page of results. I may have cheated a little by looking past the first page, but only on a few. Also, there have been a few variations on words for this tag. One week to go!

We had our walk through today. Everything looks good! There are a few touch ups to be done, and a little more cleaning, but the house looks great! The are going to replace some of the concrete in the garage because it has a crack in it, but that is the most major fix. Next Wednesday we will have another walk through, and then we will get our keys! Hooray!!!

Camping in Marin County

Last week we went to Camp Taylor for one night. We weren't too far from Point Reyes, so we drove over to the light house. The road was closed but Dad, Anne, and I carried the girls to the stairs, which were locked. It was really cold, windy, and foggy, but a lot of fun.

"Papa Gene", Jocelyn, Charly, and Anne on the rocks.

"Grandma Neece" and Jocelyn at Drakes Beach. Brrr cold!!!

Charly and Anne doing the camping thing.

Fun at Stinson.

Charly really liked the sand ...

...until she got it in her mouth. Actually she didn't really mind it.

Fun at the Golden Gate, or the pretty bridge as Jocelyn called it. She didn't like the Bay Bridge because it wasn't pretty : )

Coit Tower! Just like on Little Einsteins!

Flower Garden in Golden Gate Park.

It was a fun trip, even if I was sick!

Sick and tired of being sick and tired!

I am sick, yet again! I had a nasty case of tonsillitis the week before the girls came. The 4th time I have had it in the last year and a half! It finally went away and I was ok for about a week. Then Tuesday I come down with a head cold! I am miserable! All I want to do is sleep, but we are short at work as usual, so I can't call in sick. I went camping for two days while I was sick, which was silly, but it was the last time I could spend with the girls before they leave. So I went anyways. Now I feel horrible even after getting lots of sleep last night. At least I have Sunday off so I can relax and hopefully get better!

The Jelly Belly Factory

My Mom, Dad, Anne, Jocelyn, Charlotte, and I went to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. I haven't been in Like 15 years, so it was fun to go again.
Jocely, Charly, Mom, and a Bean

Jocelyn, Charly, and me. I took Charly on the tour in the carrier. She didn't like it at first, but she got used to it. This pic was at the end of the tour, so we were all hungry and tired!

Anne and Jocelyn on the rollercoaster

Charly on the merry-go-round. She loved that thing. She must have ridden it 5 times.

The Frog Hopper! Yup, thats me in the middle with all the kids. What can I say, I'm a kid at heart!

House Update 08/05/08

Saturday I went to the house with my family. This is a pic of the landscaped front yard. The workers had a truck parked in front of the house, so I couldn't get a full picture.

Next to the front door

The stove top and hood

The microwave

The oven

View from the bar

Closet doors in one of the middle bedrooms

I know I'm a dork posting random pictures of places in the house, but I'm so excited!
