Two Months

 Dear Paxton,

Two months old, my baby boy! Each month is getting easier. You are starting to go a little longer between feedings which is making Mama's life a little easier. You also have started to sleep in your rock and play for a few hours each night before getting in bed with Mama.  Baby steps! You did have your first cold this month which was so sad! Your poor little nose was so stuffed up and you had a cough as well.  You did not enjoy the boogie sucker at all!

This month you are finally starting to smile! It is fun to see your personality starting to come out.  You look so much like your brother and are a happy little guy like Enzo. You are also strong like Enzo! You  can hold your head up with the best of them!  Tummy time is not your favorite thing, but you can push up off your belly with your arms and turn your head side to side.

You had a Dr. appointment the other day and had your first round of shots.  You took them like a champ! Of course you cried a little, but never had a reaction after.  You weighed 11lbs 2 oz(23rd %tile,) 23.5 inches long(71st %tile,) and 96th %tile for your head! So you are a long, slender boy with a big head, just like your brother! You are in all 0-3 month clothes now and growing out of your size one diapers!

Don't grow up too fast little one!

Love,

Mama

One Month

 Dear Paxton,

You are one month old now. Hooray! My how you have changed in that short amount of time.  You started out life wanting to be held all the time and hating to be cold.  You screamed every time your diaper was changed and liked to be fed every hour. You hated bath time as well.  You still want to be held a lot, don't like to be cold, and eat often, but are starting to go a little longer between feedings. You now love bath  time, kicking your feet while in the water.  You also don't mind having you diaper changed anymore.

You are starting to become more aware of the world around you.  Mommy is now able to put you in the swing for short amounts of time and you will observe your surroundings.  Your brother is very fond of you, but of course gets jealous at times.  I don't blame him, since Mama spends most of her time on the couch nursing you.  I would be jealous too! You aren't fond of a bottle or a pacifier, but we are working on it.

Paxton, you are a spoiled little one. Mama lets you sleep with her all night long! Enzo always slept in the bassinet, but you somehow have snuck into my bed. Mama gets more sleep that way and enjoys snuggling with you all night long.

You are growing out of newborn clothes and diapers. On to 0-3 months and size 1! At your 2 week appointment you were 7lbs 13.7oz(30th %tile,) with a 87th %tile head.  They didn't measure your length, but you have definitely grown! Mama looks forward to seeing what changes this next month will bring to you!

Love,

Mama

Beach fun

As a last hurrah before the new baby comes, we decided to take a family trip to Fort Bragg on New Year's Day. Enzo loves the beach.  He was so excited to play in the sand that he wouldn't stand still long enough for pictures.
We invited Jeremy's parents to come with us on the trip. We stayed at a hotel right near the ocean.
Enzo loved the elevator(or alligator as he calls it!) He had to ride in it over and over.

We went to Glass Beach on New Year's and played in the sand.  Enzo really wanted to go in the water but it was way too cool.  There isn't much sand at Glass Beach so we only stayed a 1/2 hour or so.
We tried to go to the beach the next day, but since it was 32' we never even got out of the car.  It was a short trip with a long drive, but it was fun.

2!

 Dear Enzo,

I can't believe you are 2 years old! How fast the time has gone. You are my smart, handsome, talkative, friendly, happy, little boy.

Enzo, you love to talk and smile to every person you meet.  You especially love to see "baby brother" in Mommy's tummy.  You will pull up my shirt as quick as can be and kiss the baby.  You also try to share your binky with him.  I can tell you will be a loving big brother and a big helper to Mommy.

In these past few weeks you have started to sing songs.  You might not sing every word, but you love to sing along to dozens of songs.  From "goose" songs(songs we sing at Mother Goose on the Loose) to Jack Johnson, to whatever Daddy happens to be playing on the guitar, you are singing along! You also have started doing the hand motions to nursery rhymes.  It is so exciting to see you learning and showing off what you have learned. You love to dance and will show off for anyone who will watch you.

Mommy and Daddy are your two favorite people.  You love to snuggle with Mommy in the morning after you get out of your crib, and snuggle with Daddy at night after your bath. You are always more than willing to give kisses, with a big "muah!"

"Enzo do it!" has become your favorite phrase.  You love to help Mommy with whatever task I may be working on. Building with legos is your favorite activity.  You could play with blocks for hours! When Mommy calls you from work and ask what you are doing, the answer is always, "building!" When I ask what you are building, it is always a tunnel.  You love tunnels! When riding in the car, you love to ride through tunnels and always ask to go again once we are through.  You even have taken to calling over passes tunnels(because Mommy told you they are mini tunnels.) Your favorite park is the one with the "tunnel slides!"

Your favorite TV shows are Yo Gabba Gabba, Sesame Street, and Sid the Science kid.  Mommy doesn't allow you to watch too much TV, but when Grandpa Bart watches you, you get your fill. You like Yo Gabba Gabba so much, that you were Plex for Halloween and loved your costume! Your birthday party is going to be Yo Gabba Gabba themed.

You are still an awesome sleeper, although you are able to climb in and out of your crib by yourself.  You still wait for Mommy to come get you out of your crib in the morning. I think the only reason you do that is so Mommy will carry your 5 puppies and 3 monkeys to my bed.  You will soon be switching rooms and getting a big boy bed whether Mommy is ready or not.  I'm hoping it doesn't disturb your awesome sleeping habits for too long.

You hated going to the Dr. for your 2 year checkup even though you didn't get any shots.  You cried the whole time! You refused to let us get you undressed, and refused to talk to the Dr. until the exam was over. You are my big boy at 26lbs 5.9oz(46th percentile), 36 1/4" tall(91st percentile), and 20" head(97th percentile!) So you are still tall and skinny with a big head! You are wearing size 5 pampers during the day, and size 6 overnight diapers and wear 18-24month clothing.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much and are excited to have you in our lives!

Love,

Mommy
